Delicious mustard from the Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest is filled with stunning mountain and coastal landscapes, beautiful trees and plant life, and a whole hell of a lot of really, really delicious small-batch mustard, among other things. Here are some Pacific Northwest artisan, small-batch mustards to try:

Mustard and Co. - Seattle-based Mustard and Company is killing the mustard game with their creative and delicious varieties and, according to their website, “grew out of the realization that good food should be enjoyed in the company of bold condiments.” Preach. Do not miss their Mustard and Co. Black Truffle Mustard, nor the Mustard and Co. Honey Curry Mustard. Also of note: the Mustard and Co. Pickled Mustard Seeds.

Willamette Valley Mustards - Not only are the little jars of Willamette Valley Mustard super charming, but, as with everything, it’s what inside that counts. Try the Willamette Valley Honey Dill Mustard, for sure.

AJ’s Edible Arts - Based out of the Columbia Basin area, and women-owned, AJ’s has thirteen varieties of mustard that are definitely worth your pantry, but most notably: the original Walla Walla Sweet Onion Mustard, the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Mustard with Garlic, the very delicious Walla Walla Sweet Onion Mustard with Dill, and the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Mustard with Horseradish. Big yes on all these.

Sun Valley Mustard - Made in (where else?) Sun Valley, Idaho, this mustard brand offers some interesting varieties like Sun Valley Amber Ale Mustard, Sun Valley Spicy Sweet Mustard and Sun Valley Chardonnay. Mustard (Try all three in this Sun Valley Mustard variety pack.) But, their super standout is the Sun Valley Hatch Green Chile Award Winning Spicy Mustard.

Beaver Mustard - Okay, including this is pushing the limits of the small-batch, artisan vibe we have going on with this list, but these Oregon-made mustards are damn good and worth your time. The Beaver Sweet Hot Mustard is amazing, as is the Beaver Honey Mustard, but do yourself a favor and try the Beaver Wasabi Horseradish Mustard, the Beaver Honey Mustard Mayonaise, which has become a favorite condiment around here along with the Beaver Bread and Butter Pickle Mustard and the Beaver Hickory Bacon Mustard. Try the Beaver mustard variety pack, too, to test out their Beaver Deli Mustard, Beaver Sweet Hot Mustard, Beaver Jalapeno Mustard, and their Beaver Coney Island Hot Dog Mustard all in one go. But, spice-seekers, don’t miss the Beaver Ghost Pepper Mustard nor the Beaver Sriracha Mustard.
